Social Activities
Coffee after Mass
Coffee, tea and biscuits are provided in the Parish Hall after the 10.00 Mass on Fridays and Saturdays, and after the 9.30 Family Mass on Sundays. It is a chance to relax and meet fellow parishioners. Any donations go to our Cambodia Project.Tuesday Lunch Club

The Tuesday Lunch Club gathers fortnightly for a simple lunch of home-made soup, rolls and tea or coffee and biscuits and provides an opportunity for people to meet together and chat. All this for only £2.00! Around 30 senior parishioners meet together from noon until 1.30 pm. We have a long weekend away together every Spring and other outings are also organised. New members are very welcome. Contact Lucia Crewdson 524588.
Ladies' Lunch & Prayer Group
This group meets on the third Monday of each month at 12.30 in the parish hall at St. Augustine's. Women gather together, often drawn by the need to escape occasionally from the stresses and worries of daily living. They relax with music and prayer for a while, then share a light lunch together. Sometimes they enjoy a day at Aylesford and a summer Masses in each other’s gardens. New members will be warmly welcome – contact Pam 01892 521629.The Madonnas
This group is for mothers and other young women to meet together one evening each month for social activities and outings, through which we raise money to support the women of Kompong Thom. New members are warmly welcome. Activities have included a barbecue, quiz night, spiritual talks, bowling night, and themed evenings (such as Italian, Spanish and Polish nights). The evenings normally take place on the third Tuesdays of the month from 8 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The weekly newsletter will have details of all forthcoming events. Tickets for events are normally available after the 9:30 Sunday mass. The Prime-Timers
The Primetimers was formed when a small group of active ‘mid-life’ parishioners, frequently busy with Parish responsibilities or caring for family and friends, began to organise and enjoy informal social events to provide an opportunity for relaxation and rejuvenation. Planning and organisation was shared between individuals and the emphasis was on easily arranged activities, for example walks, theatre trips and meals, that did not involve complex planning or require the organiser to make a substantial financial commitment.

Currently a small group meet regularly for ten-pin bowling, darts and, during the season, curling at Fenton’s Rink - for each of these activities a sense of humour is more important than proficiency! Other events are arranged in an ad-hoc fashion and follow the original theme of shared and stress-free organisation. Occasionally outings for larger groups are planned to which all parishioners are invited, for example visits to the Historic Churches on Romney Marsh and the annual Christmas meal.If you are interested in joining this friendly and informal group please contact David (01892 522823) or Ann (01892 529911).
Social Welfare
Association of Separated and Divorced Catholics
ASDC is committed to co-operation with the Church and aims to give spiritual and practical support to separated and divorced Catholics helping members to come to terms with being on their own and to gain confidence to face the world again. The local group is based at St. Augustine's and meets every third Thursday of the month at 8.00 pm in Meeting Room 3. All are welcome even if you are just going through a difficult period in your marriage. We support each other and are grateful, for that non-judgemental support through good times and bad.
