St. Augustine’s Catholic Primary School
St Augustine’s School in Wilman Road is very much our local diocesan Catholic primary school. It caters for children from the age of four, and most of the children are Catholics from the parishes of Tunbridge Wells, Southborough, and Pembury and Paddock Wood. There are close contacts between the school and St Augustine’s parish, and the whole life of the school is rooted in the Catholic Faith. The 1997 Ofsted Report tells of well-behaved children who are keen to learn and receive a good education from a committed team of teachers in a welcoming and caring environment. St. Gregory’s Catholic Comprehensive School
St Gregory’s is our deanery’s Catholic comprehensive school for students between the ages of 11 and 18, both boys and girls. The school is situated in Reynolds Lane on the ‘border’ between Tunbridge Wells and Southborough, not far from St Augustine’s Primary School. It works to provide a full, broad and balanced curriculum to students of all abilities. The school is proud of its reputation as a school that tries to allow each young person to fulfil his or her potential within a culture and ethos based on Christian values and the tenets of the Catholic Faith. The 2008 Ofsted Report sees St Gregory’s as a very good school which provides an education of high quality. Examination results are consistently high, and facilities at the school include four computer rooms, seven science laboratories, music and art suites, a library and a large chapel for year and whole-school assemblies and Masses. Besides a good Pastoral system with an Assistant Head, Pastoral Leader & Pastoral Assistant for each of our 5 Area of Learning groups, St Gregory’s also has both an AEN Co-ordinator and a Gifted & Talented Co-ordinator to meet the needs of students with exceptional ability.
