Our twinned parish, The Church of the Good Shepherd is in Kompong Thom, Cambodia.
The Parish Priest is Fr. Viney Nget fr.nget with Fr. Jubfr.jub as parish priest of Kompong Ko.

St Augustine's has been 'twinned' with Kompong Thom in Cambodia since May 1997. Kompong Thom, a community of four small villages, has been rebuilding the lives of the local farming community since the demise of the Pol Pot regime when between one and two million of the population were killed by the Khmer Rouge. During the years of the Pol Pot regime, all churches were destroyed and many Christians (Catholic and Protestant) were martyred.

Since our initial twinning we have helped to raise money for various projects in Kompong Thom in particular helping to build a new chapel hall, and more recently the newly restored Men’s Hostel in 2010. We have raised money through second collections, fund raising activities such as the very successful Madonna’s fashion evening held recently in St Augustines and through various activities at our schools – and over the years we have strengthened our bonds of friendship- with parishioners, particularly some of our young people, and clergy making frequent visits to Kompong Thom - where they have always been warmly received. Fr Viney Nget, notably, spent six months with us whilst he learnt English and Fr Peter recently made his second visit in February 2011.
In the Narthex there is a large poster board which displays current and or topical information about our twin parish. The people of Kompong Thom love to receive cards and letters particularly at Christmas and Easter.
